Women Speak Out
Women Speaking Out (WSO Hawaii) is a private 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization created by former Miss Hawaii USA and survivor Juliet Lighter that focuses on educating young women in middle school through college about Dating Violence and creating community awareness. We offer grassroots initiatives to help reduce incidences of dating violence by offering character development workshops, anti-violence trainings and public awareness events. Our programs are currently funded by contributions from private and corporate donors.
We collaborated with Lil Coconut Hawaii to create our Speak Love campaign. Every year we partner with various local designers to launch products with the speak love tagline. The campaign is about promoting self-love, inspiring change, and creating awareness of dating violence. All proceeds raised will be used to fund our annual Uplift Conference for women.
